The Amazon is the largest river in the world. It is located in South America and flows through Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. The Amazon River basin is home to 16% of the world's freshwater and 10% of the world's known species.
